Client: Six Feet Over (Two Distant Strangers) + The Hamba Group
Two Distant Strangers is a 2020 American short film written by Travon Free and directed by Free and Martin Desmond Roe. The film examines the deaths of Black Americans during encounters with police through the eyes of a character trapped in a time loop that keeps ending in his death. Two Distant Strangers won the award for Best Live Action Short Film at the 93rd Academy Awards, marking distributor Netflix’s first win in the category.
Objective:
The client required various graphics that bounced off the pre-established aesthetic of the film. These graphics were all used in the planning and execution of the private party for the crew celebrating the nomination– and later victory– of the film.
Solution:
Graphics were made for invitations to the event, letters from the directors to the crew, and apparel to be given away in grab bags. Package design was also created to send further promotional goods to guests of the party later on.
