Founded in 2011 by award-winning filmmaker Ava DuVernay, ARRAY is a multi-platform arts and social-impact collective. Its mission centers on amplifying the voices of filmmakers of marginalized identities through production, distribution, and community empowerment. The challenge of the ARRAY account was finding the design sweet-spot that blended various different filmmaker’s IPs with ARRAY’s established brand guidelines, and keeping up with breaking news in the entertainment industry that were relevant to ARRAY’s followers. Both were accomplished through regular meetings and pitching of creative concepts to the client with each new releasing.
During my time working with this client, I helped design collateral for ARRAY’s various branches such as:
ARRAY Crew- My team handled the launch of this ground-breaking, network that broke down industry barriers by connecting diverse below-the-line professionals with opportunities. My work promoting the network was featured across several publications such as Variety, USA Today, and the New York Times.
ARRAY Releasing- I designed the key art for ARRAY Releasing’s “In Our Mothers’ Gardens”, along with all social media promotion. I was also responsible for designing nearly all ARRAY Releasing social media promotion campaigns from 2020-2021.
ARRAY Filmworks- I supported the in-house ARRAY marketing team with their “For Your Consideration” campaigns during awards season, any digital or print materials needed for their Fireside Chats with film directors on their main campus, along with any social media promotion of titles like Selma and Queen Sugar.
