It Gets Better is a nonprofit focused on uplifting and empowering youth ages 13-24 that belong to marginalized groups. As the staff designer, I coordinated and created a broad spectrum of projects for the organization. These designs helped to contribute to a growth of 1.1 Million followers across all social platforms, many successful fundraising campaigns raising over $150k+ for the organization, and a cohesive brand aesthetic that the company will utilize for years to come.

During my time as the Graphic Design Manager at It Gets Better, I helped to transition the organization’s brand through a total refresh complete with new brand guidelines. We experimented with where we could push the limits of the new guidelines to bring a playful, youth focused, “fun and f*ck you” attitude to every facet of the organization. This was accomplished with a very colorful, DIY, unique, and vibrant approach to most external facing assets, while internal documents maintained the clean, geometric style which closest matched the core brand guidelines.
With the help of both the Marketing and Communications Teams, I brought to life a wide assortment of creative campaigns and supported any of the internal needs of the organization. I was also given the privilege of giving feedback to brands and freelancers who created assets to fundraise for our organization during pride season.
My social media templates, document templates, Twitch design kits, and merch designs are still in use by the organization, highlighting their longevity and successful design story.
